The Bee Cave Bee

Despite an impassioned presentation from Bee Cave Councilman and PUA Board Member Bill Goodwin, a much anticipated motion to rescind the offer of water supply to the highly contentious Masonwood West development failed to pass with a 2:2 vote.

Much public comment and discussion preceded the motion item and the developer's attorneys pulled no punches in threatening legal action if the water offer was withdrawn. Although the PUA Board maintained that the document is highly provisional, the mood in the room was to make things clear with a rescission.

After an Executive Session to consult with attorneys, both Goodwin and Murphy voted to rescind but Chair Fox and Hayes County appointee Whisenant voted against. Hayes nominee Roberts was absent so 2 votes each way failed to pass the motion.

One surprise item was a note read into the record from Mike Koleber, owner of Nitro Swim stating that he did NOT oppose widening HPR or the building of Masonwood West - a position that stunned many of the attendees.
