The new Chili's at the HCG has "soft" opened for business as the photo above shows. Monday April 7th is the official date and the old 620 location closed down last week..

Old one on 620 closed earlier this week, as originally scheduled - they had a sign on their door for the week leading up to it.

We were at the soft opening, we have been customers of the "old" chilis for 10 years and go at least twice a week. The opening went very smoothly and the new building is AWESOME, so much more modern looking than the other one.
Would highly recommend giving it a visit !

Any update on what's going in the old location? How Bout reviews of the new place? Last time Chili's was mentioned here there was a lively debate.

There is no "for lease" sign outside, so I tend to think it has already been leased to someone. The only sign out front is to inform people about the new Chili's location. I'm glad that it won't sit dormant like a eyesore, at least. I wouldn't mind an IHOP. We don't have enough breakfast places around here -- just Mimi's and Two Saints Bakery.

I heard a Pawn Shop/ Adult book store was being planned.

How exciting! I can't believe we actually got a Chili's out here! All we need now is an Applebee's and an Olive Garden, and I'll be in food mediocrity heaven!

Not normally one to frequent restaurant chains, but thought we'd give the new Chili's a try after we had stopped a LONG time ago going to the old location. I was thinking the food and service might be better....wow, was I ever wrong. A new location certainly did not help either. Hopefully whatever they do put in the old Chili's location will not be another chain or a lackluster, mediocre establishment like the majority of restaurants in the area.

Ate at the new Chili's last Thursday eve and again last eve. The food was excellent to be a chain restaurant. After being seated, a wait person was at our table promptly, introducing themselves and asking for drink orders and appetizer orders if we desired any. The soft drinks and our appetizer were brought to us within just a few minutes. Both tasty, fresh and good. The menu has some new items, some of the tried and true older items and tempting desserts. One night we had a rib eye which came with loaded mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli w/Texas toast. The second time, the soft chicken tacos were tried, both being very good. The wait person, a manager and others checked with us periodically to assure our food was good and still hot and kept our tea glasses full. One nice advantage I noticed on a sign in the foyer, if you/your party is about 20-30 minutes from arriving at Chili's, you can call ahead, and they will place your name on the waiting list if people are in line. Once you arrive, your name is still at the same point and not at the end or further down the line. Each visit, the clientele were families for the most part. Another highlight was the small computer type on each patrons table. You can order and pay from the same computer and also play games for 99 cents. Most people ordered and paid through their wait person, but noticed the smaller children all playing games on the small computer. Love the new Chili's.

The manager at the new Chili's told us they had heard it was going to be a Taco Cabana.
