Brad Lancaster's announcement from the LTISD web site:
School when he filled in for then-assistant principal Sue Mitchell. Because of his extensive experience in Texas Public Schools and his familiarity with Lake Travis ISD and LTMS in particular, Dr. Kopec is an excellent fit for this position. When I spoke with the LTMS staff this week, many requested Dr. Kopec by name. I am glad that he is available to serve the students, parents, and staff of LTMS.
The process of identifying and recruiting campus leaders is on-going, but I anticipate that an active search for a principal will begin next spring. Dr. Kopec will serve as interim until a future principal is hired. I want to express my great thanks and appreciation to the staff of LTMS. They have had a very busy week and have done an outstanding job of preparing for students on the first day of school.
While I have your attention, traffic around schools and on school property is always a little more hectic the first week of school. In addition, we have a brand new school site, Travis County road construction continuing, and only one of our campus entrances available for use at this time. I encourage you to use the school bus if that is an option for your student. If driving, expect delays and exercise extra patience next week. We are aware of the congestion and will have police on site to help with the traffic. After the first few days, the traffic always improves. Please check the LTMS or District website for traffic pattern updates over the weekend.
Thank you for your understanding as we have made adjustments this week. I am confident that the students at LTMS will have another outstanding year.
