At the June 24 Council meeting, consultants hired by Bee Cave Library presented the outline of a multi stage plan to expand the space constrained Library at the front of the first floor of City Hall.
Phase 1- Layout changes, atrium partly used by Library.
Phase 2, City admin and court to second floor, city engineer to first floor. West side of building converted to library space.
Phase 3, Engineering and planning/ development to second floor, east side of the first floor would be converted to library staff use.
Unchanged - Council chambers, mayor’s office and conference room.
Expanded library includes a “multi-purpose” room for children’s events and activities.
There was some dispute ove rthe loss of a first floor bathroom but the Council took no action on the item.
