Green Santa 2018

Share

Green Santa is getting everything ready to make the Holidays special for all residents again this year as LTlov welcomes another awesome season serving our economically disadvantaged neighbors through the Green Santa program.

Collection boxes will be on hand at LTISD campuses beginning Monday, November 12th and at many, local businesses throughout the community beginning Friday, November 16th. The deadline to make a donation to help low income Lake Travis children and their families is Friday, December 7th.

Requested, new and unwrapped gifts for children aged infant to 17 include dolls, balls, cars and trucks, sports equipment, puzzles and games, blocks, legos and building kits, art supplies, toddler toys and gift cards to local retailers and can be dropped off at your child’s school campus and these local businesses: Point of Origin, the Lake Travis Community Library, Chick-fil-A/ Lakeway, Terrell Vet Clinic, the Lakeway Activity Center, the World of Tennis and WOT Pilates, the Lakeway Police Officer’s Association, Body Balance, Strandz Salon, Moreland Properties, Luxe Salon, Kuper Sotheby’s, Belmont Village Senior Living, Prosperity Bank, 620 Chiropractic & Wellness, Coldwell Banker United Realtors/ Lakeway and Bee Cave Family Chiropractic. Gifts of cash and $15 H-E-B gift cards will stretch food budgets and help families enjoy a special holiday meal.

Last year, LTlov’s Green Santa program served 600 children from 195 local families struggling to make ends meet with 3 gifts, a stuffed animal provided by Youth2Seniors, a book provided by H-E-B’s Read3 program and H-E-B cards to purchase food for a special Holiday meal. Green Santa’s success depends on the support of our entire Lake Travis community and pledges have been made by The Ladies of Charity of Emmaus Catholic Parish, H-E-B and the Lake Travis Rotary Club to help provide food cards. Funds raised at Point of Origin’s special Green Santa event in October will also go toward the purchase of food cards. Businesses who wish to help underwrite this necessary but expensive aspect of the program are needed and should contact Julie St. Onge at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information. Sing Along will present their fabulous, annual Christmas performance, “I See A Star,” on Sunday, December 2nd with shows at 2:00 and 4:30. Admittance to the show is a new, unwrapped gift for Green Santa.

Opportunities are available to volunteer for Green Santa and are needed December 4th through December 11th. Individuals, groups, clubs and organizations are welcome with day, evening and after-school times open to adults, high school students and middle school students and can be reserved.
