Bee Cave Public Library offers a wide variety of programming for families, teens, and adults throughout the year.  All events are free and open to the public, although some are better suited for adults or teens.  For detailed information about specific events, call the library at 512.767.6626 or visit the library’s Calendar of Events on our website.


June 3rd, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Summer Reading Kick-Off Party
Check out all the amazing summer reading programs and prizes we have this year. Get your free book bag just for signing up! All ages welcome.

June 6th, 2:00 pm Positive RePercussions
Jam and meet new friends in our drum circle this afternoon! Get into a rhythm, sing songs, and enjoy the process of being creative in the moment. All ages welcome.

June 7th, 2:00 pm Teen Service Project
Need volunteer hours? Bring a friend and hang out while you help at one of our project stations. You'll be amazed at how fun it can be to give back to your community! Grades 7-12 welcome.

June 13th, 2-4:00 pm Craft Day Open House
Stop by the library anytime from 2-4:00 pm and spend some time making something new. All materials are provided. Just bring along your creativity! All ages welcome.

June 14th, 2:00 pm Build-It-To-Win-It for Tweens!
How quickly can you complete these hilarious and difficult tasks? Come ready to compete and to laugh! Grades 3-6 welcome.

June 15th, 10:30 & 11:15 am *Special Storytime* with Hey Lolly
Let’s Build a Better World Together as we sing songs about recycling, chat with a talking compost heap, and learn about bees. Original music and puppets teach children all about taking care of our planet Earth. Toddlers and up welcome.

June 16th, 10:30 & 11:15 am *Special Storytime* with Kim Lehman
This hands-on storytime combines songs, prop stories, participation, and fun facts about seeds, flowers, and green growing things. Make your own garden in a bag to take home. Toddlers and up welcome. Funded in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

June 20th, 2:00 pm Critterman
What is the toughest animal in all of Africa? Find out with Critterman as he shares how amazing  animal ambassadors from around the world live and survive. All ages welcome.

June 21st, 2:00 pm Magic Treehouse Book Party
You've read the books and now it's time to go on the adventures ourselves! Join us for a book party with hands-on crafts and activities from some of your favorite Jack and Annie stories. Grades K-2 welcome.

June 24th, 10:30 am Be a Builder
Come join the building crew! Use your imagination to build, create, and pretend. We'll have loads of blocks and other things to build with. You can even build your snack! At this worksite you might hear a story and sing songs, too. Toddlers & up welcome.

June 27th, 2:00 pm Drive-In Movie
Transform a cardboard box into a set of wheels at home and bring it to the library’s drive-in movie.  The library will have a few extra boxes* you can decorate before the movie starts.  Sit inside your “car” and enjoy Disney's It's a Small World of Fun,popcorn, and juice. *While supplies last.  Bring your own box to ensure a true drive-in experience! All ages welcome.

June 28th, 2:00 pm Computer Guts Workshop for Teens
Come get your hands dirty in this tech program! Explore the wondrous innards of a modern computer and check out vintage electronics from the early history of computers, including vacuum tube, analog and digital technology. Grades 7-12 welcome.

July 11th, 2:00 pm The Amazing Tap Experience
All feet will feel the beat in this phenomenal tap experience. Come clap out rhythms, explore rhyming words, and learn all about American Cultural History. Perfect for kinesthetic learners and fun for all ages!

July 12th, 2:00 pm Tween Drawing Workshop
Enhance your creative and artistic side with a summer drawing workshop hosted by Young Rembrandts.  We'll practice our drawing and coloring techniques, and everyone will take home a masterpiece ready for framing! Space is limited. Grades 3-6 welcome.

July 13th, 2:00 pm Fun on the Farm
It's a barnyard bash! Have fun through play, by making crafts, and enjoying a snack. After the pretend farm chores, you might want to relax with stories and songs, too. E-I-E-I-O! Toddlers & up welcome.


July 15th, 2:00 pm Dinosaur George
Dinosaur George will take you back on a journey through time to teach about the various strange and unusual animals that once roamed our planet. All ages welcome.

July 18th, 2-4:00 pm Craft Day Open House
Stop by the library anytime from 2-4:00 pm and spend some time making something new.  All materials are provided. Just bring along your creativity! All ages welcome.

July 19th, 2:00 pm Tiny Tails for K-2
Join us at the library as we welcome Tiny Tails To You - Austin's adorable tiny traveling petting zoo. Enjoy a unique and interactive experience that combines petting and holding lovable animals while learning facts about the animal breeds, traits, care, and handling. Space is limited. Grades K-2 welcome.

July 20th, 8-10:00 pm Star Party
Join us for an evening of exploring the sky above Bee Cave with the Austin Astronomical Society. Don’t forget the bug spray!  Rain or shine (indoor activities in case of inclement weather). All ages welcome.

NOTE: This event will be held at The Old School House next to the Bee Cave Police Department.

July 26th, 2-4:00 pm Family Game Day
Beat the heat at the library for our come-and-go Game Day! We will be turning screens off and playing just like the "old days." All ages welcome.

July 29th, 2:00 pm Summer Reading Wrap-Up with Magician Cody Fisher
Celebrate the end of our amazing summer of reading and library adventures at our magical wrap-up party. Come see the board of winners as Bee Cave Mayor Caroline Murphy announces our reading minutes grand total. Then prepare to be amazed by a hilarious and mind blowing magic show! You won't want to miss this final summer reading fun. All ages welcome.
