Burn ban lifted

Based on current weather changes and conditions, Travis County Judge Samuel T. Biscoe has temporarily lifted the Burn Ban in Travis County. The Burn Ban issue will be on the agenda for the March 18th meeting of the Commissioners Court.

Lexus moves on - Covert, not so much

Word that developer Chris Milam is looking for Public Improvement District (PID) status for his propsed movie studio development at the Backyard in Bee Cave has stirred considerable preliminary negative reaction.

LCRA starts work on new reservoir

This week's announcement by the LCRA that they are going ahead with a "downstream" reservoir to take the pressure of the Lake system. The new reservoir will come on stream and can hold 90,000 acre feet compared to the 1.5 million acre feet in the combined "Highland lakes" system. It is designed to collect water that falls over Austin and does not impact the existing reservoirs.
