Once again our thanks to Councilwoman Kara King and her excellent blog for updates on Council affairs. Last week the City Council heard a presentation from Heather Page, Director of the Texas Film Commission/Office of the Governor.

During the evening she spoke positively of the need for studio/sound stage space and of the ability of such an operation to drive considerable associated business and revenue.

However, she got back on touch with the City the next morning and stated that she was not aware of the size and number of studios being proposed in Bee Cave until the meeting last evening. She wanted to “temper” her comments from the previous night by stating four stages would see immediate use - and that she had concerns about the need for all eight stages.

The Council took no action as they are waiting for version 2 of the developer (Chris Milam) proposal.
