The Lake Travis Cavaliers defeated the Waco Midway Panthers 22-7 Friday, December 16 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington for the Class 4A – Division I state final and become the first team to win five consecutive state titles in the history of Texas high school football.

Despite a bumpy first half filled with penalty flags, the Cavs went on to beat Pearland Dawson 45-14 at the Alamodome last night. That means early dismissal throughout the school district on Friday the 16th as the Cavs head to Cowboy Stadium in Dallas to meet Waco Midway for a never-before-achieved fifth straight State 4A championship.

Last night the Cavaliers defeated arch-rivals Cedar Park at UT stadium. By winning the State 4A quarterfinals by a close fought 14-9, the Cavs move on to play the winner of  Dawson-Angleton at San Antonio’s Alamodome in the semis. The game next Friday is expected to lead to a half day early closing for all district schools.

The Lake Travis Cavs ground Corpus Christi's Flour Bluff to a 58-15 loss in San Antonio last night. At half time the score stood at 55-0. The Cavs now play Cedar Park on Friday night at UT's Royal-Memorial Stadium in their attempt to take a never-before-achieved fifth straight State championship.
