After winning a record breaking five consecutive State Championships in Division 4a, LTHS Cavs finally lost a championship game to Pflugerville last week in the game's fourth quarter - ending their first foray into 5A and a creditable season's advance to the semi finals. They finally lost 23-20 after 30 championship games in a row without defeat.

LTHS Cavs pounded New Braunfels Canyon by 49-7 in their home season opener in 5A last night.
 

The Lake Travis baseball team became the first to make the state tournament this week. Thursday night at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, they lost 9-7 in the 8th inning to 10th-ranked Cleburne (29-10). Cleburne go on to play in Friday’s 7 p.m. state championship against No. 4 Rockwall Heath (34-9) who beat Montgomery (29-13) by 6-3 earlier in the day.

Claiming the current school funding system violates provisions of the Texas Constitution, the Lake Travis Independent School District (LTISD) Board of Trustees will join more than 80 other property-wealthy districts in litigation against the state. The unanimous vote occurred during a regular meeting of the Board held February 23 at the District’s Educational Development Center.
