This just in from LTISD Superintendent Brad Lancaster about the sudden and unexpected resignation of the LPE Principal:

"Dear Lake Pointe Elementary School Parents and Guardians,
 
I need to inform you that Dr. Paula Contreras has chosen to resign as Principal of Lake Pointe Elementary School effective Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
 
While this news is unexpected, you can rest assured the teachers and staff at Lake Pointe Elementary will continue to provide your students with the care and support needed to be successful.  We will have district staff onsite at Lake Pointe Elementary to support students, teachers, and staff.
 
I met this afternoon with the Lake Pointe Elementary faculty and staff, as well as with the Lake Pointe Elementary PTO board, to communicate that our first step is to name an interim campus principal.  We are already working on that process.  I will let staff and parents know as soon as that process is complete.
 
Lake Pointe Elementary has a rich history of high academic achievement and parental involvement. Your understanding and support will be appreciated during the upcoming transition in campus leadership.
