The new elementary school (#6) is going to be called - somewhat obviously - West Cypress Hills Elementary - and the new principal has been named as Julie Richards.

Ms. Richards will spend a portion of her first year at LTISD working at Bee Cave Elementary School in preparation for the opening of the new school (Pictures HERE)

A native of Enid, Oklahoma, Ms. Richards most recently served as Principal of River Oaks Elementary School, a Title I bilingual campus in the Pflugerville Independent School District.  She began her career in education in 1987 as a fourth grade teacher with the Seaman school district in Topeka, KS and later served as a librarian and teacher with the Shawnee Mission school district in Shawnee, KS.  Ms. Richards then served as Assistant Principal of Fox Hill Elementary in the North Kansas City school district in Missouri before returning to Kansas where she served as Principal of Briarwood Elementary in the Olathe public schools. 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Washburn University (Topeka, KS) and a Master’ degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Webster University (Kansas City, MO).
