Travis County commissioners have approved the deployment of an additional School Resource Officer for LTISD Middle schools.

 

 

The montly cost of just over $11,000 will be borne by the County for two months of the year and the School District for the remaining 10.

A senior planner at TCSO wrote: “After reviewing recent incidents, past stats, and current growth in the student population, both Lake Travis ISD and TCSO agree that it would be appropriate to have an additional SRO within the Lake Travis ISD, School safety is at the forefront of the nation’s consciousness and keeping our children safe in school is very important.”
