Ana Jordan to compete with Paul Workman

Texas State House candidate Ana Jordan is entering the final 60 days of her race to represent Lakeway in District 47 as she goes up against incumbent Paul Workman.

Jordan will be in Lakeway at the Lake Travis Community Library, 1938 Lohman’s Crossing on September 21 at 6:30pm to meet with voters and speak about how she will represent Lakeway at the Texas Capitol.

“This district deserves a full and open debate on issues that voters care about, including cuts to public education,” said Jordan. “I am calling on Paul Workman to debate me so that voters can decide for themselves whether his straight party votes are helping or hurting tax payers in this area.”  Jordan believes that cuts to public education at the state level have raised property tax burdens at the local level.

Originally from El Paso, Ana Jordan resides in Barton Creek.  She is a married mother of two, who came to Austin in 1986 on a college scholarship, the first in her family to go to college. This has left her with a sense of public service and fairness, and a determination to give back to the state.

After graduating from the University of Texas School of Law, she worked in the legal profession for over 17 years, serving initially as a state prosecutor and later as an Assistant Attorney General under a Republican administration led by Greg Abbott.  Jordan also worked in private practice as a trial attorney
