Water crisis over

The crisis caused by a leak in the main input pipe for the WTCPUA system that supplies 25,000 local homes is over.

The repair is complete and the pipe is back online after 48 hours of Stage 4 restrictions backed up by reliance on interconnects with surrounding water systems and depletion of the PUA's 2.5 million gallon reserves.

Although it looked like water usage was still too high as the repair was started Monday morning, there was no need to actually cut water supplies after all. And, because the leak was upstream of the treatment plant there was never any need to instiutue "boil notices" in the area.
