Council votes for November election, first candidate declares

At its last meeting, Bee Cave City Council voted to hold a special election in November to fill the seat vacated when Michelle Bliss resigned in April. P&Z Commissioner Monty Parker (a Ladera resident) has announced he will stand and has already received support via facebook from sitting Council Member Kara King and Michelle Bliss herself.

Here is the announcement, also from Facebook:

"It is with great anticipation that I announce my intention to run for Bee Cave City Council in the special election on November 3, 2015. After serving as a Commissioner on the Bee Cave Planning & Zoning Commission for the last 18 months, serving as a member of the TXDOT RR 620 Feasibility Study Committee, and attending over 90% of all City Council meetings in the last 2+ years, I am confident that my past business experience and my current knowledge of the issues our city leaders are facing uniquely qualifies me for this opportunity. I love this city and am ready and willing to serve with honesty, energy, an open mind and determination. I would sincerely appreciate your support." - Monty Parker
