New Police Memorial Observance

Bee Cave, Lakeway and Sunset Valley police departments invite the public to Bee Cave Police Department’s inaugural Police Memorial Observance from 9-10 a.m. May 15.

The remembrance of first-responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice will be at Bee Cave Police Department, 1333-A Hwy. 71 W. in Bee Cave.

“The greatest casualty is forgetting our fallen,” Bee Cave Police Chief Gary Miller said.

Bee Cave Police Officers Ryan Halley and Joe Reid, Lakeway Police Sgt. Jason Brown and Sunset Valley Police Lt. Rich Andreucci will begin the observance with a flag ceremony at 9 a.m.

Bee Cave Police Chaplain Jimmy Roquemore will lead the invocation at 9:20 a.m. followed by Miller who will present closing remarks.

“Many of us in the public safety profession have felt the heartache of the loss of a coworker or friend who lost their life in the line of duty,” Miller said. “I believe we should remember each of them, not always in a large public ceremony with speeches, but in a more personal and solemn manner. We hope this observance will bring police departments and the public together to ensure these friends and loved ones are not forgotten.”
