Big changes at Spicewood Arts Society

Spicewood Arts Society (SAS), the Home of the Arts in the Hill Country, is announcing their upcoming season of events in a big way this year. This year, the organization is celebrating of its 15th anniversary with a brand new managing director, new “Home of the Arts” location in Spicewood and a brand new look and feel.

SAS hired Pat Petrach, a Spicewood resident and long-time SAS volunteer as the organization’s first full-time managing director. The group, which until this time was completely volunteer-run, will benefit greatly from Petrach’s experience Janey Richardson, President of SAS’s Board of Directors said.

“SAS is excited to have Pat take on the role of our first Managing Director,” Richard said. “Her skills are what the organization needs to manage the variety of programs we offer as well as our new Home of the Arts."

Petrach has held many important volunteer positions at SAS including secretary and chaired the organization’s biggest fundraising event, The Arts Roundup.

In addition to hiring the full-time director, SAS recently held its grand opening to its Home of the Arts headquarters at 9408B Highway 71, Spicewood, TX 78669. The Home of the Arts will feature local artist work and provide a location for patrons to purchase tickets or gain additional information for upcoming events. Office hours are 11 AM - 4 PM Tuesday – Friday.

All of these new changes are just in time to celebrate the 15th season of Spicewood Arts Society’s calendar of events. The season kicks off with a live performance from Dale Watson on October 3rd at the Spicewood Vineyard. Season tickets are $180 and available for purchase from the organization’s new website at www.spicewoodarts.org.

"It is hard to believe that SAS has been sponsoring performances at the Spicewood Vineyard for 15 Years,” Richardson said. “We are excited to bring back many favorites and feature new artists to make the Celebrating 15 Years of SAS line-up a lively and memorable season."
