Masonwood meeting frustrates

For 90 minutes a packed room engaged with Masonwood West developer Jim Meredith under the chairmanship of County Commissioner Gerald Daugherty. At times the engagement was angry and at no time did simple answers flow from the podium.

In particular, Meredith gave no commitment to any reduction of building density on the 1,600+ on 900+ acres although he did agree to meeting with area representatives. He also alluded to the contentious PUA rules (the so call MOU) and hedged on how complex he found it and how he did not know what specifically it proscribed.

At the end of the meeting, State Rep Paul Workman asked what level of support there was in the room for widening Hamilton Pool Road by adding a turn lane and shoulders but only just over half the attendees raised their hands.
