High School traffic study

The Lake Travis school district is participating in a traffic study of two entrances into Lake Travis High School off FM 620 to alleviate traffic congestion.

A joint effort between LTISD, the city of Lakeway and Travis County is looking into traffic issues at the High School campus on 620. The district will pay $3,500 to help fund the study, as 25 percent of the $14,000 total expense expected.

“I really approve of what’s going on here at these two intersections, but it’s only a drop in the bucket,” said board member Fred Goff. “The rest of 620 is also involved, and I hope that we will continue to put pressure on authorities to look at the other intersections. Looking at only those two is not going to solve the problem.”

Not all the problem intersections on FM 620 are located in Lakeway - some are in  the City of Bee Cave.
