On Monday February 4th a High School teacher was assaulted by a student. Details are very sketchy due to LTISD standard privacy policies. A request for a further statement this week has not, so far, received a response from the District.

 

 

LTISD released a general statement: "“Due to student and individual privacy laws, we are not able to comment on matters of student discipline, the employee's condition or the employee's work status,” the district said in a statement. “While this is an isolated incident, we take this matter seriously and it remains under investigation.”

 

Multiple unoffical sources may fill in some of the details - none of which can be confirmed:

• The student concerned was angry over a poor grade
• The student concerned was rumored to have "anger issues"
• The teacher was either punched in the head multiple times or her head slammed against a screen
• Another student (a junior) pulled the attacker off the teacher
• The teacher is still off work
• The student was over 18 and was arrested - TCSO responded
• The incident was not linked to Thursday security alert at LHTS
