Bee Creek UMC gym opening

Bee Creek United Methodist Church has announced that they will have a ribbon cutting for a new gymnasium building at 12:30 PM on February 26 at 3000 Bee Creek Rd in Spicewood, TX.

Following the ribbon cutting the church will sponsor a pizza party in the gym’s new Youth Room.

The facility (the only non-school facility of its kind in Spicewood) will include a regulation basketball and cross-court volleyball with viewing areas, gathering places and a large classroom where youth can learn, play and deepen their faith. Bee Creek UMC looks forward to sharing this space with community youth sports leagues, fitness classes, and other recreation activities beginning this fall.

“Youth are a vital part of our church. I’m pleased by the vision of our church to build this space for the benefit of our own students and those in the community.” explained Pastor Laura Heikes, Senior Pastor at Bee Creek UMC.

The groundbreaking ceremony will follow the 11:00 O’clock worship service and feature the youth of the church in the ceremony. Everyone is invited to join the celebration and get a look at the new facility.

Pastor Laura went on to explain that, “We are so pleased to build this facility for our community. I am so proud that the congregation has shown through actions their commitment to youth. It will be wonderful to have a gym in our own area!”

Bee Creek United Methodist Church was founded thirteen years ago. It has grown from just thirty founding members to over five hundred current members. Bee Creek UMC is just off Hwy 71 West, about 15 minutes from Lakeway, 30 minutes from Oak Hill.
