DECORUM HOME AND DESIGN OPENS IN BEE CAVE

New retail concept from local designer Chris Beach focuses on making the home a retreat

BEE CAVE, Texas – July 9, 2010 – Every home should be a retreat, and local designer Chris Beach is doing his part to bring that sensibility to design-savvy Austinites with his new retail concept Decorum Home + Design, which is located at the Shops at the Galleria in Bee Cave, Texas.

Decorum Home + Design will carry gifts, offer in-stock and custom furnishings, and will serve as the headquarters for the design team of Beth and Chris Beach, a mother-son duo who have outfitted interiors in and around Central Texas for 11 years.

“Decorum is a one-stop shop,” said co-owner and designer Chris Beach. “We can support a range of needs – whether someone is looking to buy off the floor, access our designer resources or bring in a professional to lead a design project.”

Walking into the store, one sees fresh and sophisticated design that blends traditional and modern furniture lines. Neutrals are complemented by accessories in bold colors such as turquoise and lime green. Furniture has been selected with longevity in mind. “The furniture that we select doesn’t just look good – it feels good. It has integrity,” said co-owner and designer Beth Beach.”Our style is traditional with a punch – a classic club chair in an unexpected color, a button tufted sofa that’s a pared-down interpretation of a traditional design.”

The store will offer a curated selection of tasteful, unique and stylish rugs, sofas, chairs, tables and lighting, with custom selections available via special order. The opening of the store coincides with the launch of Decorum’s in-house upholstery line, with classic and contemporary styles available in more than 1,000 fabrics, from linen to velvet. The Decorum approach to interior design focuses on the home as a place to relax and luxuriate. “You should feel that your home is your retreat,” said Chris Beach. “In today’s economy, people are spending more time at home. We help people create special places to enjoy a morning coffee, dinner with family, or to relax with friends.” 

Design services available from the Decorum team include color consultation, custom window coverings, and fixture and furniture selection.
