Bee Cave Library rated 5-Star again
For the second year in a row, Bee Cave Public Library has received a five-star rating in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries, the LJ Index of Public Library Service 2011. Five stars is the highest rating that a library can receive. Only 85 libraries across the country received the five star rating, which is based on the annual number of library visits, circulation, program attendance, and public Internet computer use.
“We are so honored to be recognized again as a Star Library by Library Journal,” said Library Director Barbara Hathaway. The LJ Star Index analyzed 7,513 public libraries throughout the country, separated them by budget, and assigned 3, 4, or 5 stars to 262 libraries. For the second year in a row, Bee Cave Public received 5 stars, placing it among the best in the nation. “In fact,” Hathaway added, “we ranked second in the nation in our budget category. Because this index compares libraries operating with comparable resources, it is a tribute to our hard-working staff who take great pride in their work and strive to deliver outstanding library service to our community.”
