Backyard money woes continue

Backyard owner Tim O'Connor and his company Direct Events are being sued by another supplier.
In addition to law suits filed by Sixth River Architects for over $100,000 over the Backyard and Austin Music Hall venues, Maldonado Construction are now suing for over $300,000 for building work at the backyard and threatening to place liens on the property.
There are now rumors that Willie Nelson's very late arrival at his own picnic was connected with a non payment problem and that a rift has developed between Nelson and O'Connor over the issue.
Many people connected with the matter are curious why O'Connor's partner and backer John Paul DeJoria has not stepped in to help rectify the situation. DeJoria is involved in a variety of business ventures. Primary is John Paul Mitchell Systems, founded in 1980 with revenues in excess of $1 billion annually. The Patrón Spirits Company he co-founded in 1992 with business partner Martin Crowley also produces more than $1 billion revenues each year.
The next major event at the Backyard is the Bob Dylan concert on August 4th.

He can pay for the land under the venture, but cannot participate in the physical plant built upon it. I have not personally confirmed this.
