Park crime wave yields few clues
Bee Cave Police have identified a pattern in four thefts from cars during daylight hours in Bee Cave Central Park's parking lot. But apart from identifying the pattern and recommending increased caution in the area, Police have been cagey about what else they have discovered that may lead to an arrest in the case. Each theft involved a broken window and a purse on a front seat being stolen. Police are asking for cameras to be installed.

2013-03-05 00:53:12 | Carole Ann - car break ins at bee cave parkI will never understand why anyone would leave their purse, wallet, ipad, laptop, wallet, whatever, in plain view inside their car. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that you are inviting an oportunistic thief to smash and grab whatever is in your car.
Take your purse with you, or better yet, leave it home and just put your license and credit card in your pocket. By the way, if you are going to put your purse in the trunk of your car, you need to do that before you leave your house, not once you get to the park as they could be sitting there watching who puts purses into their trunks.

2013-04-11 15:28:24 | Bee Cave Resident - CONCERNED AND ALERT CITIZENSomeone either has a whole lot of 'down' time on their hands and/or the 'gangs' and/or 'wanna be' gangs are showing up!
This community/area is a prime place for gang activity due to the area being half way btwn San Antonio/Austin. Hwy. 281/71 is a direct path from San Antonio into the Austin areas thru Bee Cave. Could have been someone like the person who demolished/trashed the Dripping Springs Baseball facilities this week. That person(s) spray painted such horrible obscenities/'stuff' even the TV News had to 'shadow' the pictures it was so bad. The Hays County law said the amount of damage/destruction was a Felony offense!
There are gangs everywhere ~ Austin just made a huge 'bust' this week of gangs/drugs. Then, on the other hand, we should hope this was not one of our fine young leaders of our future.
We just need to be on alert more and watch what is going on. IF you see someone lingering at a wall, just notice if they are waiting on someone or actually spraying graffiti! Same w/strange cars in your area ~ don't just drive by ~ take note. There is not a place anywhere these days which does not have crime/destruction by humans ~ lack of respect AND lack of supervision.

Seems a gang, out of Florida, I think it said, was in Austin, had several of their gang members in many groups to break in cars all over Austin, breaking windows and/or just opening UNlocked cars and stealing valuables, such as purses, phones, etc.
The APD had caught several of the gang rings in the Austin area and arrested them. The TV News noted that the Florida based gang was all over the USA in groups, doing the same thing.
Could this be the BCave Park theives? A gang? Non-workers? Day light theives while young MoM's taking their Children to the BCave Park for an outing for their Children and/or exercise? Scarey ! ! ~ ~
Very concerned the BCave area does not have a Police/Sheriff 'blotter' and/or other means of keeping their people informed of what is really going on in crime around BCave ~ not just 'assist traffic stops, false alarms, etc. ~ BCave area residents need to know when gangs, repeated burgalries, thefts, murderers, rapist, sex offenders, etc. have been reported in our area ~ BCave area residents do not need to know names/exact addresses, but approximate where/when/etc. ~ ~ ~
