Oct. 2 is the date of the 29th Annual National Night Out, when - from 5-9 p.m - local residents are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers and firefighters, who will attend neighborhood parties throughout the two cities. Briarcliff also has events planned.
National Night Out is designed to:
? Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
? Generate support and participation in crime efforts;
? Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations; and,
? Send the message that your neighborhood is a safe place to live.
