Rolly Pollies in conjunction with the Lakeway Lions club and the Registered Opticians Assoc. of Texas will sponsor an Early Childhood Screening on Saturday Feb. 18th from 9:00AM – 12:00 PM for children ages 6 months through 4 years.

Targeting preventable eye diseases and blindness in children with the PediaVision new advanced “child-friendly” technology.  50% of children that have trouble LEARNING can attribute it to some kind of vision problem.  Previously, eye screenings given to young children required their involvement to determine their visual acuity.  These screenings provided little or no input regarding eye disease or possible impairment. ? ?

There is a 95% cure rate if vision problems are detected early.  Without early intervention and treatment, these children---approximately five million in the U.S. alone---will suffer permanent VISION damage, uncorrectable with glasses or contact lenses.  By providing laser vision testing and analysis with a Registered Optician to children at this much earlier age, detection is much earlier and therefore, these children will have a real chance to correct their vision problem.  Comparatively, the new laser technology is so much more beneficial to young children, specifically 6 months through 4 years of age, because it makes early detection possible.    ? ?

Early Childhood Vision Screening may detect the following vision issues:?Amblyopia  (lazy eye)?Strabismus (eye turns)?Myopia (nearsightedness)?Hyperopia (farsightedness)?Astigmatism  (irregularly shaped corneas or lenses)?Cataracts (media opacities), and ?Anisometropia (differences in strength between two eyes)? ?

Bring your children ages 6 months through 4 years of age on Saturday, from 8am to 11AM, for the Early Childhood Vision Screening to be held at Rolly Pollies in Suite 450 in the Shops at the Galleria.
