City population proof to stall home rule?
Unanswered questions and controversy over Bee Cave's ability to prove it has 5,000 residents continue to dog the City as it moves to adopt "Home Rule" - driven by issues surrounding the impending construction of one of two car dealerships on Highway 71 by the Covert group.
Despite the identical wording of the agendas for the special meeting already called for the morning of Saturday the 16th (9am) and on Monday the 18th at 6 pm, City sources continue to tell us they have no clear mechanism identified that is acceptable to the State and that could withstand an expected legal challenge;
Item 2 - Consider and take action regarding Resolution No. 2013-03 declaring that the City has 5000 inhabitants.
Item 3 - Consider and take action regarding appointing a Charter Review Commission.

Can you count folks in the ETJ? probably not many right now, but that will increase with Cielo on 620. Surely there are 5000 in Bee Cave. Falconhead West has 700 homes, probably 1400 adults right there. Do you have to go door to door? The Falconhead Apartments have a lot of units. There are apartments at Galleria and on Hwy 71 across from HEB. Uplands in Bee Cave?? Or do you have to have Property Owners that total 5,000? Bottom line, what is the definition of "5000 residents"?
