City gives go ahead to settle with LCRA after four years
After a four year battle this week's Bee Cave City Council meeting gave the mayor the go ahead to settle the LCRA rate case litigation - as a precursor to the purchase of the systems from the LCRA by a consortium of which the City of Bee Cave is a part.
Lake Pointe MUDs #3 and#5 must also settle.
The coalition comprises Bee Cave, LMUD, Travis County Water Control Improvement District 17, Leander and Travis, Hays, Burnet and Bastrop counties.
Bob Dorsett was quoted as saying “This ongoing fight with LCRA over the last four years placed us in a position to negotiate for the water system, and the settlement that was authorized tonight was a part of the ongoing negotiation that could turn out to be a win-win for the city and LCRA."
